After three months of development, the all new JHR Pro Grade Billet Aluminum shifter for the 2011 Mustang GT is here and promises not to disappoint.
The manufacturing engineers at JHR have been producing billet shifters for the performance after market for more than ten years. The Pro Grade Shifter is designed for the 2011 manual 6-speed Getrag MT82 transmission and possibly the most innovative shifter on the market.
In a sport where weight is your enemy, the JHR shifter weighs only 1.2 pounds which is 50% lighter than the competition. More than 90% of the components are CNC Machined from a super strong aerospace aluminum alloy. In comparison, most companies use either 12L14 or 303/304 stainless for the lever portion of the shifter which are both weaker than the aluminum alloy.
It’s not just a faster and lighter shifter, but extremely comfortable too. The JHR Pro-Grade shifter was designed with better ergonomics than the factory shifter and has a shorter throw without the flexing you would experience with the stock unit. The handle position has been raised and moved back by almost an inch making it much more comfortable for the driver.
“We didn’t just make a shifter to make a shifter,” said Adam Louramore, Vice-President of Joe Heck Racing. “We made one that is unique and better quality than any other shifter out there.”
